From the Pastor

Hi Neighbor!
Wow! I can't believe how fast the summer is flying by and I am sure you feel the same way too. Winters in Western Maryland can get pretty long especially when one anticipates the arrival of warm summer days. I hope and pray that you and your family are having a wonderful summer and are enjoying the beautiful weather God has given us!
July has been an incredible month for all of us at Oak Hill Wesleyan Church - God is absolutely awesome! Celebrating our country's 232 birthday, I am reminded of the Lord's goodness upon a nation that has been blessed beyond measure in such a relatively short period of time. (As nations go ...)
My family celebrates the birthday of our second daughter, soon to be 17 years old and my ordination as a minister of the Wesleyan Church on July 21. As we take our family vacation together in Ocean City this month I cannot help but reflect upon God's abundant blessings in our life in such a short period of time. Less than fifteen years ago, this once old alcoholic, drug dependant, worthless nobody, who had destroyed everyone and everything around him, including himself, reached out to God through Jesus Christ, His Son, and has never been the same since. I have a Life, a real Life, that can only be expressed by praise only unto God, and He alone! I couldn't have believed the life, family and friends I have now fifteen years ago. Then my world was hopeless, bitter, dark and uncaring. Now I can't do enough to reach out and help those around me discover this abundant life that is found in a real relationship with the One, the only One, who has created us, loves us and saves us. The God and Father of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
If your life is now, like mine used to be, then step over your fears, doubt and disbelief and disregard everything else in this world and reach out to the One who has been patiently waiting for you. He loves you, and will give you His life for your old one. Then hang on! For your life now, will have no end and never will your blessings, potential, and dreams!
Then come meet your brothers and sisters at the Oak Hill Wesleyan Church - we can't wait to see you too!
God Bless you, for He is with you always!
In Jesus Name,
Pastor Erik
